This guy is probably the funniest guy ever to walk the African continent. Trevor Noah has worked very hard and it has paid off. We blogged about Trevor and a list of other African comedians, he came top on our list. We did have an idea he was destined for greater things. After appearing three times on the comedy show, Trevor has been rewarded with a kick-ass promotion. His debut appearance on the “daily Show”was fantastic, check it out here
Trevor Noah will take over the baton from Jon Stewart who revealed earlier this year that he was leaving the “Daily Show”.
Noah was born on the 20th of February 1984 in South Africa. He previously worked as a radio DJ and actor.
According to Wikipedia, Noah’s mother, Patricia, is a black South African (Xhosa), and his father, Robert Noah, is white (of Swiss-German descent). His parents’ relationship was illegal at the time of his birth, and his mother was jailed and fined by the South African government. His mixed-race heritage, his experiences growing up in a Soweto township, and his observations about race and ethnicity are leading themes in his comedy.
Noah gave no formal auditions for the job, outside of his performances on “The Daily Show” and elsewhere. He has a history of balancing poignant topics with honest humor. He talks a lot about growing up in a mixed family in some of his routines.
